설해원이 조금씩 자리를 잡아가면서 또 하나의 질문이 생겼다. 조용히 쉬고 싶은 사람들에게 휴식은 어디까지 가능할까. 설해원하우스 더 풀빌라는 그 질문에서 시작되었다.

설해원에서 처음으로 계획한 2층 단독주택형 풀빌라다. 무엇보다 중요한 것은 프라이버시였다. 리조트 안에 있으면서도 하나의 독립된 집처럼 머무를 수 있는 공간. 풍경은 함께 누리되 휴식은 온전히 자신의 것이 되는 집을 만들고 싶었다. 건축은 공용과 개인의 시간을 명확하게 나누는 방식으로 계획했다. 1층은 가족과 친구가 함께 머무는 공간이다. 거실과 다이닝, 풀장이 자연스럽게 이어지며 하루의 시간을 공유한다.

반면 2층은 조금 다른 풍경을 담는다. 혼자 책을 읽고, 창밖을 바라보고, 아무것도 하지 않는 시간이 머무는 공간이다. 건축은 사람의 하루를 따라 층을 나누었다. 넓은 개구부와 테라스는 바람과 햇살을 실내 깊숙이 끌어들인다. 빛은 시간에 따라 움직이고 풍경은 계절마다 조금씩 달라진다. 집은 그 변화를 조용히 받아들이는 그릇이 된다.

조명과 재료, 가구 역시 같은 생각으로 계획했다. 눈에 띄기 위한 디테일보다 오래 머물수록 편안해지는 공간의 감각을 중요하게 생각했다. 설해원하우스 더 풀빌라는 주택을 설계한 프로젝트이기도 하지만 동시에 프라이버시를 설계한 프로젝트이기도 하다. 좋은 휴식은 화려한 시설에서 시작되지 않는다. 누구의 방해도 없이 나만의 시간을 가질 수 있을 때 비로소 완성된다.

As Seolhaewon gradually found its identity, another question emerged. How private can a resort experience become? Seolhaewon House The Pool Villa grew from that question.

It was the first two-story private pool villa introduced within the resort. From the beginning, privacy became the project's defining idea. The intention was to create a residence where guests could enjoy the landscape of the resort while feeling completely at home within their own independent retreat.
The architecture separates shared moments from personal ones. The first floor brings people together.
Living areas, dining spaces, and the private pool flow naturally into one another, creating a place for conversation and gathering.

The second floor offers a different atmosphere. It is a quieter place for reading, reflection, or simply spending time alone. The architecture follows the rhythm of a day. Large openings and generous terraces invite light, breeze, and the surrounding landscape deep into the interior. As daylight shifts and the seasons change, the house quietly changes with them. Architecture becomes a frame for those passing moments.

Lighting, materials, and furniture were selected with the same intention. Rather than attracting attention, every detail was designed to become more comfortable with time. Seolhaewon House The Pool Villa is not only a house. It is an architecture shaped around the idea of privacy. True rest rarely begins with luxury alone. It begins when people can finally enjoy time that belongs entirely to themselves.
