논현동 가구거리는 브랜드마다 자신만의 방식으로 공간을 이야기하는 거리다. 가구를 전시하지만 결국 경쟁하는 것은 브랜드의 철학과 공간의 인상이다. 디사모빌리 프로젝트를 마친 뒤 우리는 또 하나의 흥미로운 제안을 받았다.

디자인벤처스는 국내 가구 브랜드로 출발해 수입 가구 시장까지 사업을 확장하며 새로운 본사와 전시장을 준비하고 있었다. 하지만 이번에는 이전과 다른 질문을 던졌다. 건축 자체가 쇼윈도가 될 수 있을까. 그래서 선택한 것이 전면 커튼월이었다.

건축은 내부를 감추지 않는다. 사람의 움직임과 공간의 깊이, 계단과 가구, 빛의 변화가 그대로 거리의 풍경이 된다. 입면은 벽이 아니라 하나의 거대한 진열장이 된다. 건축은 브랜드를 설명하지 않는다. 브랜드가 어떻게 살아 움직이는지를 보여준다. 낮에는 도시를 비추고 밤에는 실내의 빛과 가구가 새로운 풍경을 만든다. 건물은 하루에도 여러 번 다른 표정을 갖게 된다.

논현동에는 좋은 가구 브랜드가 많다. 우리는 좋은 건축도 그 거리의 일부가 되어야 한다고 생각했다. 디자인벤처스 사옥은 가구를 담는 건물이 아니라 브랜드와 도시가 서로를 비추는 하나의 쇼윈도가 되기를 바랐다.

Nonhyeon-dong is where furniture brands express themselves through space. The buildings display furniture, but what truly distinguishes them is the identity each brand creates through architecture.
Following the completion of the Disamobili Headquarters, Y GROUP was invited to collaborate on another flagship project.

Design Ventures a company that had grown from a domestic furniture brand into a leading importer of international collections, was preparing its new headquarters and showroom. This time, we began with a different question. Could architecture itself become the showcase? The answer was a fully transparent curtain-wall façade.

Nothing is concealed. People, furniture, circulation, light, and structure become part of the city's everyday view. The façade is no longer a solid boundary. It becomes a living display window. The building does not explain the brand. It allows the brand to reveal itself. During the day, the glass reflects the changing city. At night, the illuminated interiors transform the furniture into part of the urban landscape. The architecture changes continuously with light, time, and activity.

Nonhyeon-dong is filled with remarkable furniture showrooms. We believed its architecture should be equally memorable. Design Ventures was conceived not simply as a building for furniture, but as a transparent dialogue between brand, architecture, and the city.
